Our Approach to Addiction Prevention

Addiction prevention is an important part of community well-being. Depending on the activity, collaboration may include awareness of harmful substance use, healthy coping strategies, supportive family and community environments, early help-seeking and referral to suitable professional services.

Respect and responsibility: Participation is voluntary. Individuals affected by substance use should be treated with dignity and without stigma. Clinical assessment and treatment must be provided by appropriately qualified professionals.

Principles of Collaboration

  • Shared commitment to community health and well-being.
  • Clear responsibilities and realistic expectations.
  • Accurate information and professional boundaries.
  • Respect for privacy, consent and participant dignity.
  • Transparent reporting and constructive feedback.
  • No pressure to participate, contribute or join any organisation.
