The SUKHAM100 100-Week Programme

Sustainable Knowledge for Healthy and Meaningful Living

Sankalp se Rachnatmak Jeevan Tak

A sustained community initiative to promote preventive health, inner well-being, positive lifestyle practices and addiction-free living.

Programme Overview

SUKHAM100 follows a structured 100-week framework designed to encourage continuous learning, practical experience and community participation. Activities are organised around monthly themes and adapted to the health needs, interests and circumstances of each participating community.

Local Brahma Kumaris centres may organise activities independently, jointly with other centres, or in collaboration with health professionals, educational institutions and community organisations.

Programme at a Glance

100 Weeks

A sustained programme that supports regular engagement rather than one-time awareness activities.

Monthly Themes

Themes provide a common direction while allowing activities to respond to local needs and available expertise.

Four Connected Stages

Learn, Experience, Community Action, and Celebrate & Commit guide the design of activities.

Community Collaboration

Centres, volunteers, professionals and partner organisations can contribute according to their roles and capabilities.

The Four Stages of Implementation

Stage 1

Learn

Share reliable health information through talks, demonstrations, discussions and awareness sessions.

Stage 2

Experience

Encourage suitable practical experiences such as meditation, healthy lifestyle activities and guided well-being practices.

Stage 3

Community Action

Translate learning into practical service, community outreach, supportive relationships and appropriate health initiatives.

Stage 4

Celebrate & Commit

Review participation, recognise contributions, gather feedback and encourage continued healthy practices.

Suggested Areas of Activity

Preventive Health

Health awareness, nutrition, diabetes prevention and management education, healthy ageing and appropriate screening initiatives.

Mental and Emotional Well-being

Stress awareness, healthy coping skills, supportive relationships, meditation and appropriate help-seeking.

Healthy Lifestyle and Fitness

Suitable walks, fitness activities, healthy routines and practical demonstrations adapted to participants’ abilities.

Family and Community Well-being

Family health awareness, communication, community service and collaboration across age groups.

Addiction Prevention Across the Programme

Addiction prevention and support for addiction-free living should be integrated into relevant activities throughout SUKHAM100. Depending on the theme, this may include awareness of harmful substance use, healthy coping strategies, protective habits, supportive family and community environments, early help-seeking and referral to appropriate services.

Our approach: Use respectful, non-stigmatising communication. Do not label or shame individuals affected by substance use. Volunteers should not diagnose or provide treatment beyond their qualifications.

How a Local Centre Can Participate

  1. Review the theme and activities planned for the relevant week.
  2. Identify the community group and health objective.
  3. Choose a suitable date, venue and activity format.
  4. Coordinate with qualified professionals or partners where needed.
  5. Conduct the activity with appropriate safeguards and accessibility.
  6. Record the activity, participation, feedback and relevant follow-up.

Activities may be organised on any suitable day within the assigned programme week, according to local circumstances and coordination requirements.

Documentation and Review

Participating centres should maintain accurate activity records, including the programme date, activity details, participation, collaborating organisations and relevant feedback. Photographs and personal information should be collected and shared only with appropriate permission and in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.

Reporting supports programme coordination, review and learning. Figures should reflect actual records, and provisional estimates should be clearly identified as such.

Health and Safety

Activities should be suitable for the participants and their needs. Medical screening, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and individual medical advice must be handled by appropriately qualified professionals. SUKHAM100 complements, but does not replace, professional healthcare.
